Dare to Lead™
We deliver the Dare to Lead™ program for individuals who want to become brave leaders and organisations who want to create courageous cultures.
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organisational development professionals. Phillip Ralph, Managing Director of The Leadership Sphere, is a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator. We add to the core program content to address specific leadership challenges faced in organisations.
The program is available to individuals through public courses and to organisations that want in-house programs via either face-to-face workshops or online classes. Individuals who successfully complete the full 24-hour program will receive a certificate of completion and are allowed to put the Dare to Lead™ Trained badge on their LinkedIn account.
Brené Brown defines a leader as “anyone who takes responsibility for
finding the potential in people and processes and has the courage to
develop that potential.”

You are probably thinking to yourself, when was the last time I took time out of my busy day to day personal and professional life, to reconnect with myself and spend time reflecting on what matters most, and that is you as a leader!
You will explore bravery as an individual and a leader and get a deeper understanding about brave leadership being the willingness to act during times of uncertainty, to do what is right over what is easy, and to risk falling short in the process.
You will explore courage through a new lens and walk away with new ways of building courageous cultures that enable us to be brave, have tough conversations and create an environment where people can share their thoughts openly with others.
You will work on yourself and explore what is most important to you as a person and as a leader and reinforce that values-based leadership is about living and leading with values that direct and motivate others to do their best and that inspires everyone to contribute to the greater good.
You will undertake due diligence into what makes you angry or shuts you down (yes this happens to all of us!) and understand the connection with feelings such as worry, guilt, and shame. A connection is then made with what it takes to build a high trust organisation where we can confidently rely on ourselves and others to do the right thing.
What you will find is that self-compassion is often lacking when it comes to the fast-paced world we live in. You will learn techniques to be more understanding of yourself and others and the power of empathy, as you become more aware that everyone is doing the best we can as we learn about life!
“The program provides such in-depth consideration of Brene Brown’s work. It gave perspective to the content but also drives you to continue to consider other ways and concepts that you may not have considered before. The group size means that you have opportunity to share and learn from others whilst also being able to work independently on the areas you want to. Highly recommend it!”
“I found the Dare to Lead training incredibly valuable. The program is thought provoking and challenging at times in ways that encourages awareness and growth on different levels, and from this explores how we as individuals can build courage and then lead from it. The facilitators guided us through the material with compassion, understanding and insight and confirmed that we can never stop learning about ourselves and how we interact with the world. The group created a safe environment to explore issues of trust and courage and to unpack the stories we tell ourselves which keep us stuck or small. It was a wonderful and valuable experience that I highly recommend.”

“I have worked with Philip Ralph of TLS as an Executive Coach for the last 1.5 years, as part of an Executive Team development program that he co-facilitated. With his coaching and guidance I have evolved as both a manager and a leader. This experience has allowed me to deepen my self-reflective practice, refine my system level diagnostic skills, strengthen my influencing tactics and evolve my understanding of the work of leadership to new levels. This work has allowed me focus on my purpose: enabling and empowering others, creating the conditions that allow them flourish whilst I continue stepping up to be a high impact authentic leader.”

The most significant learning within the Dare to Lead™ program is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, trainings, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership.
“You will be challenged to become a more vulnerable leader, to lead with values, build trust and rise above setbacks.”
